I’ve drafted and redrafted this blog post several times now, and never quite finished it. It occurs to me that that’s because I’m not quite in the same mindset I was in when I started it, which is probably a good thing.
Nearly three years ago now, I shot with Jen Brook, Donna Graham and Ryan Kitto on what was then meant to be the beginnings of a project, but which never got anywhere, for several reasons. The first and foremost of those reasons is that the shoot was a series of screw-ups, and I’ve spent all the time between then and now feeling guilty about that.
Time to stop feeling guilty and put stuff out in the world.
So here they are, the images I’ve never shared. They’re not my best, and they’re not what I wanted them to be, and I intend to revisit the project. They’re actually a good example of the Creative Gap ‐ the space between what you have in your head and what you’re able to make.
I can learn a lot from my own mistakes, but not if I spend my time wallowing in them. That just leads to getting stuck in the mud.
And here are some BTS shots, just for the sake of it.
