Is there any other game where a draw – after five days of play – can be so nailbiting, so tense, so improbable, as to see one team and their fans celebrating as though they’ve just won the match? I don’t think so.
You can take your soccer and stuff it; take your Rugby1 and bugger it; screw your baseball and your basketball and your floorball and that epic of boredom that some people call golf. Test cricket is where it’s at, folks.
Do I think England will win the Ashes back? Not really. Am I looking forward to every single bloody ball? Damn right.
