Three hundred and sixty-odd days of 2008, day 164

I think that the people who built this house did it in such a way as to make it deliberately idyllic, a bit like the way Stonehenge is oriented so that the sun rises over the heelstone on the summer solstice.

When I grow old and retire I want to have a view like this in the evening. Of course, I could do with out all the other stuff that comes with such a view, viz, erosion, wind damage, flooding and a vague smell of seaweed.

One of two things is happening here. Either the sun is setting or someone has nuked the Lake District.

I think it's the former, but I'm not wholly sure.

An almost entirely accidental sunset shot taken on the north Morecambe shoreline. It was only as I was tweaking the levels on this that I noticed that the horizon is skewed. I like it that way.

I'm well aware that:

1) I'm behind with posting these and
2) I need to do less sunset shots, because they're getting a bit tired now.

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat. He has been making things up for as long as he can remember and has been making code work for long enough to make a living from it.

He has written one novel, which is in the process of composting, and is working remembering how to write before embarking on a second. In the meantime, he photographs things, since it's easier not to have to make the world up in his head all of the time.
