Three hundred and sixty-odd days of 2008, day 160

This didn't come out quite the way I wanted, but I still think it's beautiful.

Taken at Glasson Dock, at the mouth of the Lune estuary (the opposite bank from Sunderland Point.

These cranes just happened to be between me and the sun. I love the combination of the light, the sky, the silhouettes and the reflections on the water.

The Lone Sentry

Three hundred and sixty-odd days of 2008, day 83

On a day when no real photo opportunities arose, I spied this female blackbird, alone for about forty feet in any direction, watching over the garden.

Good Evening

Three hundred and sixty-odd days of 2008, day 63

Once again I'm cooped up in the house and struggling for inspiration. This isn't anything special, just your average sunset shot, but it was a cool, peaceful evening and photographing it made me feel a little less narked about not having anything new to photograph.

Taken with a 30mm lens, looking down the Lune valley

About

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat. He has been making things up for as long as he can remember and has been making code work for long enough to make a living from it.

He has written one novel, which is in the process of composting, and is working remembering how to write before embarking on a second. In the meantime, he photographs things, since it's easier not to have to make the world up in his head all of the time.
