A lone traveller

Three hundred and sixty odd days of 2008, day 114

A solitary lamb wanders away from the camera on Roeburn Road, near Littledale.

Actually, he's not alone. His mum is just the the right of him, hidden in the long grass. Just after I took this shot she herded him away, giving me reproachful glances as they left.

Actually, this isn't near home. It's taken on the moors above Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, where I grew up. Still, the point remains. I stood up here and took a deep breath and for the first time in a week didn't smell the smoke and grime and myriad hydrocarbons of London.

I haven't done much to the image besides clone out a couple of lampposts. It might have worked better with the polariser but I didn't have it to hand.

About

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat. He has been making things up for as long as he can remember and has been making code work for long enough to make a living from it.

He has written one novel, which is in the process of composting, and is working remembering how to write before embarking on a second. In the meantime, he photographs things, since it's easier not to have to make the world up in his head all of the time.
