Another Bloody Boat

Taken at Sunderland, near the mouth of the Lune estuary.

I'm not really happy with any of the photos that I got in this shoot. I'm definitely going to go back and get more, because with the right conditions and the right angle I think some of them could be really cool.

One thing that never fails to amaze me is the colour reproduction from my D40x when paired with the 10-20mm Sigma lens. That's the one thing that I really like about this image: the colour of the boat, which stood out against an otherwise pretty drab background, has been captured perfectly.

By the way, the boat's for sale.

I broke a bass string tonight. This made me cranky, since I won't be able to get a new one for a couple of days and I don't have any spares (my fault).

So I took photos instead, obviously.

Not the first Snowdrops I've seen this year, and nor by any means will these be the last, but this little cluster of flowers, growing at the side of the graveyard at St Paul's church in Brookhouse caught my eye because they're all on their own: apart from the occasional bouquet left by relatives of the interred there's nothing for yards around them but mossy grass.

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat.
