This is a rather self-referential ironic comment. Enjoy it. It also marks the boundary of "too many autoportraits. Move on..."

(Also, that's a very good book.)

A pastiche of Rebekka's famous photo 'Eve'.

Took me a while to get this shot; after much playing about I realised that I'd have to use the flashgun and a narrow aperture.

It'll do; I just wish I'd bumped the ISO level down. I did tweak the curves and saturation slightly with the Gimp, but didn't do anything else.

And I know that's not a proper cricket ball. It's a practice ball I use when I'm practising leg breaks in the garden.

I was out of inspiration tonight, photographically speaking. Luckily, the brainjuice was flowing in the direction of prose (though you'll note that I took long enough out of it to get this shot, with a rather precariously balanced camera).

That's the ultimate in procrastination: photographing yourself pretending to do the thing you should be doing and telling yourself that really, it's okay, because it's still creative.

I got a new toy today, a Sigma 30mm/1.4 EX DC HSM lens. Very nice. Very good for portrait work. Heavier than expected.

Being alone in the house with no other subjects I decided to muck around a bit with it. This was an out-take from a set that never quite worked. I just like the expression.

About

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat. He has been making things up for as long as he can remember and has been making code work for long enough to make a living from it.

He has written one novel, which is in the process of composting, and is working remembering how to write before embarking on a second. In the meantime, he photographs things, since it's easier not to have to make the world up in his head all of the time.
