Macro sunset

Macro sunset

Three hundred and sixty-odd days of 2008, day 149

An almost entirely accidental sunset shot taken on the north Morecambe shoreline. It was only as I was tweaking the levels on this that I noticed that the horizon is skewed. I like it that way.

I'm well aware that:

1) I'm behind with posting these and
2) I need to do less sunset shots, because they're getting a bit tired now.

  • The sunsets are still beautiful though. Especially with a macro pebbley twist. (I'm always watching and admiring, even if I don't comment).

    Thanks :).

I guess I just feel like I'm posting a lot of shots like this rather than coming up with anything new and inventive. Okay, this particular shot is a bad example because it was something new (although I wish I could've framed it without the promenade at the left hand side of the shot, but there you go), but the majority of my sunset shots are more or less the same as each other.

I think I've been spoiled a bit by Prague, which was full of things - and people - to photograph. I took a lot of people pictures whilst I was there, mostly of the UDS delegates, but I enjoyed capturing fleeting moments rather than a tableaux of the sun falling into the sea every evening.

shrug or perhaps I'm just getting jaded about it as I approach (distantly) the halfway mark of the project.

About

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat. He has been making things up for as long as he can remember and has been making code work for long enough to make a living from it.

He has written one novel, which is in the process of composting, and is working remembering how to write before embarking on a second. In the meantime, he photographs things, since it's easier not to have to make the world up in his head all of the time.
