Spring Cometh

Three hundred and sixty-odd days of 2008, day 41

Not the first Snowdrops I've seen this year, and nor by any means will these be the last, but this little cluster of flowers, growing at the side of the graveyard at St Paul's church in Brookhouse caught my eye because they're all on their own: apart from the occasional bouquet left by relatives of the interred there's nothing for yards around them but mossy grass.

  • Beautiful flowers, snowdrops are. I don't think I've come across them outside of pictures in years, though, which is sad as they're one of my favourite sights: that dark green, gentle white contrast. When you see them, are they usually wild, or in gardens?

About

Graham Binns is a writer, photographer, musician and software developer from Lancaster, England, with far too much hair, a penchant for odd t-shirts and a magnificent hat. He has been making things up for as long as he can remember and has been making code work for long enough to make a living from it.

He has written one novel, which is in the process of composting, and is working remembering how to write before embarking on a second. In the meantime, he photographs things, since it's easier not to have to make the world up in his head all of the time.
